Renfrew Psychotherapy provides psychotherapy, Jungian psychoanalysis and spiritual direction to clients in Renfrew and the Ottawa Valley, from Deep River to Ottawa and beyond.
Psychotherapy is an opportunity for a person to work on his/her/their problems and emotions by talking with a qualified and trusted professional who listens attentively and assists him/her/them in exploring an inner path of healing and wholeness.
Psychotherapy is especially for people who have: difficulties in their lives, feel overwhelmed, and do not know where to turn, or how to manage their emotional dynamics; a desire to know themselves more fully; significant responsibilities related to their profession, deal regularly with challenging situations, and require a safe and effective use of self; an opportunity for continuing education; medical care, and would benefit from supportive talk therapy.
As a form of psychotherapy, the journey of the Jungian analysis often begins when a person experiences an extremely challenging time in his/her/their life, does not know what to do or where to turn, and feels stuck.
A Jungian analyst works with people on their dreams, exploring them symbolically and psychologically, to glean together what these materials offer and mean. A person’s dreams, images, and visions can reveal how his/her/their psyche (unconscious) is encouraging psychological balance and wholeness. The overall goal of Jungian analysis is personal maturation or individuation.
Jungian analysis provides a safe and confidential container in which mental health concerns can also be addressed. These may include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, peer pressure, aging, stress, sexual orientation and expression, addiction, grief and loss, relationships, transitions, retirement, demands of work and family life, separation and divorce challenges, religious questions, sense of well-being, and life satisfaction. Other issues can be worked on as they come up in the therapy.
